Ben Pulletz, 23, is a nature photographer and entrepreuneur who founded Feathers & Hills, a brand he launched at just 17 years old to showcase his creativity and passion for the natural world. After the first year of photographing he won a place and had an image featured on the Countryfile Calendar, of a Brown Hare amongst the rapeseed.

From a young age, Ben has been drawn to the outdoors—exploring countryside paths, wandering through local woodlands, and always searching for wildlife moments to capture. What began as a passion quickly grew into something more.

In 2021, during lockdown, Ben focused his attention on the wildlife in his own garden. Without the ability to travel far, he developed his skills by observing bird behaviour, setting up natural perches, and photographing from his bedroom window. Determined to expand his portfolio, he made early morning trips to the Somerset Levels—often relying on family lifts—to capture species such as kingfishers and birds of prey.

That same year marked a major milestone when Ben won a Category Award at the Siena International Photo Awards for his image “Buzzard at Dusk.” His work also gained national press recognition, with his photograph “Peek A Roe” featured in publications including The Times.

Ben held his first exhibition in Somerton and began selling his work at local markets, including the National Trust site at Lytes Cary. He steadily built a strong local presence, connecting with communities across Somerset.

In 2022, Ben expanded his reach further—continuing exhibitions and markets while being featured in magazines such as Outdoor Photography and The Countryman. He also appeared on ITV News West Country, marking his first television interview.

By 2023, Ben had grown his brand significantly, supplying more stockists across the South West. He held exhibitions at National Trust properties including Montacute House and Lytes Cary Manor, and collaborated with Thatchers Cider, photographing wildlife within their conservation area at Myrtle Farm.

2024 became his most exciting year yet. Alongside expanding his exhibitions and retail presence, Ben introduced a new creative venture: Luna the Globetrotter®. The character quickly gained popularity, leading to a successful range of greeting cards.

Building on this success, Ben wrote and published his first book, “Luna Explores Somerset.” The book takes readers on a journey through the county’s landscapes, history, and wildlife, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Book signings at Yandles in Martock proved highly successful, with strong public support.

Today, Ben continues to grow Feathers & Hills into a recognised brand, combining photography, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
